The Limetown Television Show.

The first season of Limetown (the podcast) was released in the last half of 2015 and was soon one of the most popular shows, with over 10 million downloads. Vulture even included it as one of the top ten podcasts of that year, saying that the show “represent[s] a window into a very possible future for podcast programming: serialized audio fiction that’s thoroughly modern [and] eminently listenable…” (Nicholas Quah, Vulture Dec 11, 2015).

The first season of Limetown the podcast follows Lia Haddock, an investigative journalist with American Public Radio who looks into the mystery of Limetown. At one point, Limetown was an isolated neuroscience research facility in Tennessee with roughly 300 people living and working around it. A frantic and mysterious 911 call from facility prompted outside concern but almost everyone in the town mysteriously disappeared before the public was granted access to the site. No one from the town was heard from for more than a decade.

In the roughly three years since the season one finale, the creators and producers of the show have released a prequel book in November 2018, a season two of the podcast (release in October of 2018), and are currently working on a Limetown television series. You can currently listen to season one and two of the podcast wherever you find podcasts and can purchase the prequel book wherever you find books.

The Limetown television series has been picked up by Facebook Watch for 10 episodes and is currently in development. According to the site ‘Inside Vancouver’, production for the show started December 3rd, 2018 and is expected to finish up March 8th. A release date hasn’t been announced but writer and creator Zack Akers recently tweeted that the ‘show is going very well and everyone working on it is great’.

The show is written by the creators of Limetown the podcast, Zach Akers and Skip Bronkie and Jessica Biel will executive produce the show and star as Lia Haddock. Other actors starring in the show include Stanley Tucci, Marlee Matlin, Kelly Jenrette, John Beasley, and Louis Ferreira. According to the show’s page on IMDb, Jessica Biel will star as Lia Haddock, Omar Elba will be Mark Green, and Alessandro Juliani will Dr. Oskar Totem. At the moment, it does not look like there’s any official word on what roles the other actors will be playing.
